Help Gambia Flood victims
We are making this urgent appeal to well meaning individuals and societies for cash and materials to alleviate the effects of the disaster that devastated more than seventeen thousand households and their livelihood across the country. A host of communities and families are without basic needs after recent heavy down pours of rains swept away their homes, livestock and farm produce. They are in dire need of your help. Food, clothing, medical needs and shelter are urgently needed to help the victims. Your contribution would greatly enhance their present conditions for better and would help ease the pain and suffering they are presently enduring.
Individuals and societies wishing to make contributions towards this noble gesture could contact The GUS secretariat on telepone: 0044(0) 78 0970 1730 or email: info@gambiaunitedsociety.org.uk
Cash donations can be paid directly into The GUS bank account:

All donations received will be sent to The Gambia soon and thank you for your generous contributions. It would no doubt help a great deal in easing the agony of affected families in The Gambia, mostly women, children and the elderly.
Special Voluntary Fund
GUS is run by volunteers who are members and monthly subscription. Our main source of funds is the monthly subscriptions of £5.00 paid by our members. We use organise shows by bringing Senegambian artists over in the UK to promote our culture and raise funds at the same time, but not all of these shows are financially viable.
Recently, we have been contacted for help by families whose relatives have died and wish to send the body back home for burial as preferred in The Gambian community. This is inevitable and cost around £3000. We would like to set up a special fund for this to which people can donate to.
We are appealing to all Gambians and non-Gambians to help us raise the much needed funds in order to meet our charitable objectives. We appreciate all contributions that our volunteers are making in an effort to improve the lives of many vulnerable people while promoting Gambian Culture .

Help fund a projectYou can donate to a specific project, for example the malaria project and keep up to date with the project development. £5.00 would buy a mosquito net and you could save the life of child.
